7 Advisors at Capitol Financial Solutions Earn New Professional Designations in 2016
Raleigh, NC, January 23, 2017 – Capitol Financial Solutions, a full service financial services firm with offices in Raleigh and Charlotte, NC, as well as in Richmond, VA, today announced that three financial advisors have earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™, five advisors were awarded the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) Designation and one earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) Designation in 2016.
These additions brings the number of current Capitol Financial Solutions associates who have obtained their CFP® designations to ten, AIF® to nine, RICP® to three.

The CFP® marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board, have successfully completed financial planning coursework and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas: the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. CFP® professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.
AIF Designees are the only recognized professionals trained to perform fiduciary assessments, which measure how well investment professionals are fulfilling the fiduciary duties required of them by the applicable investment legislation, case law, and regulatory opinion letters.
RICP® is an advanced designation earned by individuals working in the retirement income planning field. Requirements for the designation include a minimum of three college-level courses, a series of two-hour proctored exams, and at least three years of experience in the financial services industry. Recipients of the RICP® designation also must meet stringent ethics requirements and participate in The American College’s continuing education program. Retirement Income Certified Professionals® identify retirement income objectives and needs and evaluate a client’s current situation relative to those goals by using the most current techniques. Individuals who earn a RICP® can provide expertise on a broad range of retirement topics.
